Check-in and Embarkation Flow

Every cruise booking will be allotted with a designated check-in timeslot. To avoid over-crowding and congestions in the cruise terminal, we strongly advise every guest to please adhere to the staggered timeslot and to arrive on time.

STEP 1: Arrival at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal

Note: Only Palace guests proceed straight to Level 2 for Screening / Document Check and Check In without the need to go to Hall B

  • Fill-up Checklist (Health Declaration part)
  • Scan "LeaveHomeSafe" QR Code (for ship)
  • Temperature screening
*Guests detected with fever / respiratory symptoms / failed the health criteria will be subjected to a second evaluation check by a medical officer and individuals not meeting these criteria will be denied check-in / boarding.

STEP 2: Document Check at Service Counter

  • Guest to present vaccination record
  • Guest to present Negative PCR test result#
  • Submit Check List (Completed Health Declaration part)
  • Guest to receive wristband upon completion of check
  • Luggage (if any) check-in
#Official proof results must indicate passenger HKID card number and specimen collection time and date (with a test specimen collected within 48 hours prior to 1 pm of the departure date). Negative results via SMS / LeaveHomeSafe App / e-health Apps are acceptable.

If within 72 hours prior to the customer's scheduled boarding time, a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is in force or anticipated to be in force, customer may then produce a negative PCR test result with the test sample taken within 72 hours (instead of 48 hours) prior to boarding the cruise ship.

STEP 3: Check-In @ Level 2 Departure Hall

  • Guest to present checklist & wristband to terminal security / embarkation staff
  • Self-Check-in Kiosk OR Check-In Counter
  • Collect TRACEY - a simple device that facilitates contact tracing in the event of any emergency situation
  • Submit and return signed check list to counter / Kiosk Staff

STEP 4: Embarkation

  • Present cabin card, Tracey & wristband to security guard at X-Ray screening.
  • Proceed for Immigration Clearance and Boarding

Booking and Check-in

Yes, Dream Cruises will run safe cruises in Hong Kong with Genting Dream and is scheduled to commence sailings from Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, starting 30 July 2021 with itineraries extending up to year end.

Yes, cruise bookings are now open (since 27 May 2021)
Available to all Hong Kong residents with:-

  1. Hong Kong Identification (ID) Cards (Permanent & Non-Permanent)
  2. Official proof of full vaccination
    • At present, all guests aged 18 and above must complete all doses (including 2nd dose) of their Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their sailing date and provide an official proof of vaccination during check-in at the cruise terminal.
    • As per the latest update of the local Hong Kong authorities, children 12-17 years old who have received one dose of Fosun Pharma / BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine (Comirnaty vaccine) at least 14 days ago are deemed to have complied with the requirement of completing the COVID-19 vaccination course and are eligible to cruise with official proof of vaccination.
      From now until 14 October 2021
      Children aged 12-15 years old may join the cruise after receiving one dose of COVID-19 vaccine WITHOUT the need of waiting for 14 days.
      However, children aged 16 & 17 years old MUST WAIT 14 days after receiving one dose of COVID-19 vaccination before joining the cruise.
      From 15 October 2021 onwards
      Children aged 12-17 years old MUST WAIT 14 days after receiving one dose of COVID-19 vaccination before joining the cruise.
    • The vaccination record should be in English or Chinese issued by a healthcare institution or a relevant authority of the government of the place where the vaccine was administered, bearing the name of the guest identical to that in his/her valid travel document to show that:-
      1. The relevant vaccinated guest received dose(s) of vaccine against COVID-19 and the date(s) on which the dose(s) was/were administered; and
      2. The name of the COVID-19 vaccine administered.
    • Guests who have health conditions that prevent them from taking the vaccine must present the original hard copy of doctor’s note as medical proof.
  3. SELF-PAID PCR Covid-19 testing with negative test results 48 hours before departure date.
    • Prior to cruising, all guests will have to make their own personal arrangements to undergo a self-paid PCR COVID-19 test. On the day of cruise departure, a negative COVID-19 PCR test result (with a test specimen collected within 48 hours prior to 1 pm of the departure date) must be provided. Official proof results must indicate passenger HKID card number and specimen collection time and date. Negative results via SMS / LeaveHomeSafe App / e-health Apps are acceptable.
    • For SMS PCR Result that does not show specimen collection date, guests must safekeep and present the following information and document:-
      • Collection Point Receipt (with a test specimen collected within 48 hours prior). Screenshot of receipt is also accepted, provided the Barcode ID is the same as the Specimen No.
      • Negative SMS result with Specimen No. that correspond with the Barcode ID that is shown on the Collection Point Receipt
    • Based on the latest update from the Hong Kong authorities, kindly note that deep throat saliva will no longer be accepted / recognized as specimen for compulsory testing for cruise passengers departing on Genting Dream from 24 September 2021 (Friday) onwards and instead can only use combined nasal and throat swab samples collected by professionals for testing purposes.
      If a cruising guest is unfit to undergo the relevant test(s) using sample(s) taken through combined nasal and throat swabs because of health reasons, he/she must be issued a medical certificate by a registered medical practitioner (relevant medical certificate), proving that the individual is unfit to undergo the required combined nasal and throat swab test. As such, the individual will have to undergo the relevant test(s) using deep throat saliva sample(s). Relevant person must keep the SMS notification(s) containing the result(s) of the test(s) and the relevant medical certificate.
    • Cruising guests may get their PCR COVID-19 test with results within 24-hours at any of the mobile collection stations, Community Testing Centre (CTC) or recognized local medical testing institutions to undergo a self-paid professional swab sampling via combined nasal and throat swab samples.
      Children 3 years and below
    • Kindly note PCR testing for children below 3 years old is not available at the community testing centres. Guests will need to arrange for self-paid testing at private laboratories recognised by the Hong Kong government.     • Collection of stool samples for PCR testing for children 6 years and below from recognised laboratories by the Hong Kong government is also acceptable (especially for children under 3 that are not suited for taking sample by nasal and throat swab)
    • All specimens for PCR testing must be collected within 48 hours prior to 1pm of the departure date.

For Hong Kong Permanent Residents

  • Present the original copies of their Hong Kong Permanent Resident ID Cards

Guests under 11 years old must bring along the original copies of their Hong Kong Permanent Resident ID card and

i) HKSAR Re-entry Permit OR
ii) Passport

For Hong Kong Non-Permanent Residents

  • Present the original copies of their:

i) HK Identity Card (‘C’ or ‘U’ Symbol) + Valid HKSAR Document of Identity OR
ii) HK Identity Card + Passport + Multiple journeys to Hong Kong resident visa

No. The official proof of vaccination and self-paid PCR COVID-19 negative test results are not required during booking stages.

However prior to check in at the terminal of the date of departure, all guests must provide official proof of full vaccination and the 48 hours self-paid PCR COVID-19 negative test results.

Guest that had travelled overseas are allowed to cruise provided they have been fully vaccinated after 14 days with negative PCR test result within 48 hrs prior to 1pm of departure date.

However in view of the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has adjusted the quarantine and testing arrangements of Hong Kong residents returning to Hong Kong from Mainland areas (other than Guangdong Province), Macao and Taiwan. As such, cruising guests that have been to Mainland China areas (other than Guangdong Province), Macao and Taiwan within 21 days of their departure date will be unable to board Genting Dream.

Embarking guest that is a recovered COVID-19 patient may embark provided he/she has fulfilled the following:
  • Provide history report of diagnosis and recovery or hospitalization
  • Must complete their single required dosage of their Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their sailing date. Recovered patients will need to seek medical practitioners’ advice on the matter.
  • Undergo a self-paid PCR COVID-19 test with negative results - both within 48 hours prior to 1pm of the departure date.

For guests who have been vaccinated abroad, the vaccine must fall under the list of COVID-19 vaccines that are recognized by the HKSAR government.

Under the Cruise as You Wish policy of Dream Cruises, guests have the option to cancel their bookings up to 48 hours prior to the departure date and will be entitled to Future Cruise Credits via their original booking source.

Guests have the flexibility to cancel their cruise bookings up to 48 hours prior to sailing and receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for sailings prior to or on 29 December 2021.

The FCC is redeemable for any Dream Cruises or Star Cruises Hong Kong sailings on or before 31 May 2022.

Under these circumstances, the guest will need to contact their original booking source prior to the departure date to request for a cruise transfer in the form of Future Cruise Credits (FCC), upon presentation of the compulsory notice and proof of residence.

Yes in an event of such an emergency, guests will be offered a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) voucher with flexible rebooking options or a pro-rata refund that is based on the remaining period of unfulfilled cruise.

COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing

At present, all guests aged 18 and above must complete all doses (including 2nd dose) of their Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their sailing date and provide an official proof of vaccination during check-in at the cruise terminal.

Guests who are unable to provide the negative test result will not be allowed to proceed with check-in and embarkation.

As such, NO COVID-19 testing is available or conducted at the cruise terminal.

Yes, the pre-boarding COVID-19 test is self-paid by the guest.

PCR test for COVID-19 is available at Community Testing Centre for HK$240. The test can also be done at private clinics and hospitals, where prices vary.

Please be reminded that prior to cruising, that guests will have to make their own personal arrangements to undergo a self-paid PCR COVID-19 test. Guests that had completed the full vaccination will still be required to undergo the PCR COVID-19 test with negative results for the safety of the guests and crew.

Onboard Safety and Preventive Measures

Upon cruise resumption in Hong Kong, Genting Dream will operate at a reduced capacity of 50%.

All guests are required to wear face masks in public areas, except when dining and engaging in strenuous sports / physical activities as per Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Mask) Regulation.

At any one time, there cannot be more than 4 guests gathering in the cabin.

For the Palace Villa and Penthouse, an exception with a maximum of 6 guests per cabin will be allowed.

Most of the on board facilities are in operation.
  • CLOSED venues at present include Dream Dining Upper, Galeteria, Palace Spa, Crystal Life Asian Spa, Saunas & Steam Rooms, Jacuzzis, Kids Leisure Pool.
  • Non-vaccinated guests (due to medical reasons) are NOT allowed to enter the Spa, Karaoke Rooms (KTV), Mahjong Room and Bars. However, guests with 1 dose of vaccination are allowed to enter these premises.
  • Both the Palace Pool & Main Pool will be operating at 50% capacity and open to all guests (both vaccinated & unvaccinated guests). Kids Water Park and Water Slides are also open to all guests. However, Kids Leisure pool is closed at present.
  • For the Gym, unvaccinated guests are required to mask-on and vaccinated may mask-off.

Rest assured, we will be focusing our attention on the implementation of our health and hygiene guidelines and protocols to provide the safest and most care-free cruise experience with peace of mind for all on board.

We will constantly review our operations and offerings in accordance the local authorities’ requirements to continuously offer our guests additional and exciting services and facilities in the near future.

Most on-board venues do not require bookings.

Seating arrangements and venue capacities are in accordance with the social distancing regulations of HKSAR government.

Table reservations can be made at specialty restaurants on a first-come first-served basis. Please refer to on-board collaterals for reservation information.

Seating at inclusive restaurants is on walk-in and first-come first-served basis. Guests will also be given a pre-set timing if the inclusive restaurant capacity has reached its peak. In addition, sufficient duration of meal timings is provided to allow more options for guest. No self-service buffet and instead crew will serve guests from behind the buffet line.

Guests are invited at the Dream Dining Room or The Lido for a complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of your cruise. However, should you wish to enjoy an additional meal in these restaurants, an amount will be charged:

  • Breakfast – HK$89 nett
  • Lunch – HK$119 nett
  • Dinner – HK$159 nett

For the swimming pools, guests will have to make reservations based on given time slots and adhere to the safe distancing measures and capacity limits for each slot(Limited to 1 hour per guest). Please refer to on-board collaterals for the most updated schedules and reservation information.

Both the Palace Pool & Main Pool will be operating at 50% capacity and open to all guests (both vaccinated & unvaccinated guests). Kids Water Park and Water Slides are also open to all guests. However, Kids Leisure pool is closed.

All seating arrangements will be in accordance with the latest social distancing regulations imposed by the HKSAR government, as stipulated in Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation and Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation.

Zodiac Theatre
  • Operate at reduced capacity of 75%
Restaurants
  • Tables at restaurants are arranged with adequate safe social distancing (1.5 meters in between) with transparent partitions to separate guests.
  • For restaurants, maximum 12 guests per table. For Bars / Pubs, maximum 8 guests per table.
Any on board medical treatments of symptoms related to COVID-19, including COVID-19 testing on the ship, will not be charged to the guest.

The on board medical team, which include professional nurses, doctors and an Infection Control Officer (ICO) are certified to manage any emergency or medical crisis with a well-equipped 24-hr medical facility, including a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine for on board COVID-19 testing.

In addition to the isolation wards located inside the medical centre, additional staterooms in proximity are also converted into isolation staterooms to accommodate timely and effective group isolations when needed.

TRACEY is a simple device to facilitate contact tracing in the event of any emergency situation that will be issued to all guests (regardless of age).

Guests’ data will not be compromised as It does not have GPS, internet or cellular connectivity.

All guests (regardless of age) are required to have their TRACEY with them at all times.

Yes, guests will be required to pay HK$150 for the missing TRACEY.

Disembarkation

No, as the "Super Seacation" cruises are not destination cruises. Cruising guests are not considered outbound travelers and post-cruise quarantine is not required.
